STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Sterling Heights Police have a man in custody in the fatal stabbing of his 24-year-old wife at the Sterling Heights Apartments on 14 Mile Road.
Police were called to the scene early Monday morning on a report of a possible homicide.
When they arrived on the scene, the victim's husband was outside the apartment covered in blood. According to police, the husband called 911 from a nearby pay-phone claiming three intruders came into the apartment and killed his wife.
Inside the apartment, officers found the woman in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds.
Investigators say the husband's stories are inconsistent and they believe he may be the only one involved in the murder.
Officers took him into custody and are seeking a warrant in the case.
