Three days of torrential rains during the final days of July 2010 have caused rivers to overflow throughout Northwestern Pakistan causing severe flooding and destroying dams, roads, schools, food supplies and homes in hundreds of towns and villages. Hundreds of thousands of villagers have lost their homes and livelihood and the death toll of over 400 is rising. This is reportedly the deadliest such disaster to hit the region in over 80 years.
