"The Mu'minoon are but a single Brotherhood." (49:10)

How many a time have we heard this ayat been mentioned? How many a time have we spoke to others, notably Non Muslims about the importance of Brotherhood in Islam? How many of us take pride in the concept of brotherhood in this Ummah of ours? Yet how many of us have actually sat down and thought about this ayat? How many of us who are so proud to talk about the brotherhood of Al Islam, have ever sat to consider it, and understand it, as it was understood by those upon whom it was revealed?

These are questions we have to ask ourselves, as without question, Ar Rahman, has had his mercy on this nation, by tying every person who testifies to his oneness, with a unique tie, a tie of brotherhood, and sisterhood which transcends, race, language, ethnicity and nationality.

This is a tie that Allah Azza Wajal has made which is of such importance that it has actually been tied to faith itself.

So here we are, on this blessed day, with an opportunity to mature our faith, and invest in our hereafter, strengthening the ties of brotherhood, to come to the aid of a noble teacher, a hafiz, a sick person, our very own Dr Dremali.

WHAT NOW?
