Ibn al-Khattab the righteous mujahid who died shaheed in sha'a Allaah after surviving a heavy caliber bullet to the stomach and a landmine exploding on him, when a treacherous munafiq slipped him a poisoned letter. The Russians tried to pin certain acts of terrorism on him, but these allegations never held up. He denounced them and criticized the Russians for murdering civilians.
For those who would accuse the Chechen Mujahideen of acts of terrorism during the First and Second Chechen Wars read these statistics:
First War -
Russian Civilian Casualties - 161
Chechen Civilian Casualties - Between 50,000 and 100,000 with 240,000 injured
Second War -
Russian Civilian Casualties - ~600
Chechen Civilian Casualties - 300,000 with 200,000 missing (Statistic Given By Russian Federation Governor of Chechnya)
So for every Russian Civilian loss there have been approximately 1038 Chechen losses in the form of death (460 - 526 per Russian), injury (Just in the First War 315), and disappearance [Likely Dead (263)]
Terrorism is not allowed in Islam, but fighting back in a manner which has been used against you is. We do not condone school bombings etc., but a bomb with a timer and a bomb from a plane are the same thing. One is just labeled a terrorist attack and the other an air raid. To say the least it is a matter of ijtihaad and we ask Allaah to guide the Muslims and to grant them victory.
