We spend our days busy with worldly affairs. How much time do we spend reflecting on the nature and other creations of Allah? The more we learn about Allah, the more humble we become and more khushoo we have in our salah. How does Allah describe Himself, His names and attributes in Quran? I have tried to compile a small collection of verses from Quran where Allah describes Himself and his names and attributes. Since we are too busy to reflect on signs of Allah all around us, I have tried to use some of Allahʾs signs, his creations and other natural phenomena as video clips so that we may reflect on them. May Allah help us get closer to him. Ameen.

As the population of this planet continues to stray further and further into disbelief we must hold onto the rope of Salvation, educate ourselves, educate our family and try to be a better example to inshallah, guide the human race back to salvation.

The Quran states:

All together hold fast the rope of Allah and be not divided among yourselves.

Remember Allahʾs favours upon you when you were enemies;

He united your hearts, so by His favour you became brethren;

You were at the brink of the fiery pit and He saved you from it.

Thus Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so that you may be rightly guided.

(Chapter 3 Ali Imran Verse 103)

In the wake of all the media and unfavourable publicity the community (our Ummah) and us as individuals are place further under scrutiny and test, therefore it has become now more important then ever to reflect on ourselves and re-assess what image we portrait.


In the Hadith narrated by AbuUmayah, The Prophet ʾʾPBUHʾʾ said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good. (Abu Dawood)

Remember it is much simpler to change yourselves so please letʾs not look at other and judge them, letʾs look at ourselves first and make the necessary changes so that we may walk with dignity and uphold the characteristics of a Muslim.

Last Sunday Rabbi Nachum Shifren from California visited Speakers Corner
He had lead an EDL demonstration in support of Zionism to the Israeli embassy in Kensington. Then he took about 50 EDL members to Speakers Corner where he gave an aggressive speech attacking Islam and Muslims.
Afterwards he had a one to one discussion with someone at Speakerʾs corner (Hyde Park, London) which you can view on this 13 minute video.
The EDL attacks Muslims for the belief that in certain circumstances apostasy results in the death penalty.
But here we see a prominent EDL speaker and supporter saying that killing apostates and homosexuals is Godʾs will -- the only reason it is not implemented today is because the Jewish court system does not exist at present!
Watch how the Rabbi initially denies that the Bible commands the death penalty then is forced to admit the commands exist, then finally admits that it is Godʾs will to execute apostates...And watch how his EDL minders get increasingly nervous and try to bundle him away!

Salem Al-Amry gives a concise account about an important topic which pertains to one of the Major Signs of the Last Day. This is an excellent and very important subject that every muslim needs to know, Oʾ Ummah of Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him].

The Prophet (peace be upon him) described the Dajjal in great detail. Through his description we know what the Dajjal will look like, where he will first appear, who will follow him, what he will do once he gets here, and how he will be killed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

I have told you so much about the Dajjal (Antichrist) that I am afraid you may not understand. The Antichrist is short, hen-toed, woolly-haired, one-eyed, an eye-sightless, and neither protruding nor deep-seated. If you are confused about him, know that your Lord is not one-eyed. (Abu Dawood)

We know that he will be a man. He will be blind in one eye. His hair will be curly and he will be short. The believers, whether literate or illiterate, will be able to read the letters kaaf, faa, raa (spelling kaafir or ʾʾdisbelieverʾʾ), written between his two eyes.

The Dajjal will claim to be Messiah and then claim to be Allah, Himself. He will perform miracles. He will traverse the earth in short periods of time. He will exert control over weather patterns, sending down rain upon those who believe in him. He will exert a similar influence over crops and livestock. He will only be able to do this because Allah, in all of His Power and Wisdom, will allow him to do so, not because the Dajjal has any power unto himself. He will serve as a massive trial for humanity.

The Dajjal is a reality and we are blessed to have so much ahadith concerning it and warning us about it; such as:

Account of the dajjal and his features and what would be along with him


the characteristic of the dajjal and a ban on his entry to medina and his killing of a believer and then restoring him to life


the dajjal would be very insignificant in the eye of Allah, the majestic and glorious


the appearance of the dajjal and his stay upon the earth and the descent of Jesus and his killing him (dajjal) and the departure of good people of strong conviction and the survival of the wicked people and the worship of idols and the blowing of the trumpet and the raising up from the graves


the hadith pertaining to the spy of the dajjal

Salim al-Amry is from the United Arab Emirates. He is a Computer Engineer by profession, however has spent a major part of his youth studying under different scholars. He has taken the effort to obtain knowledge of the different sciences of Islam including Aqidah, Usool, Hadeeth, Fiqh, Tafseer, Arabic language and more. His teachers include: Shaikh Ali Khashshan and Shaikh Mahmood ʾAtiyyah, who were two of the first students of Shaikh Albani and under both Shaikh Salem Al-Amry studied Aqidah.

ʾʾThe Story of Sheikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyahʾʾ TV MOVIE of the life of Sheikh ul-Islam Ahmed Ibn Taymiyah one of the greatest Islamic scholars.
Taqi ad-Din Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah (January 22, 1263--1328), full name: Taqi ad-Din Abu ʾl-?Abbas A?mad ibn ?Abd al-?alim ibn ?Abd as-Salam Ibn Taymiya al-?arrani (Arabic: تقي الدين أبو العباس أحمد بن عبد السلام بن عبد الله ابن تيمية الحراني‎).
Ibn Taymiyya was born in 1263 at Harran into a well-known family of theologians and died in Damascus, Syria, outside of the Muslim cemetery. His grandfather, Abu al-Barkat Majd ad-deen ibn Taymiyyah al-Hanbali (d. 1255) was a reputable teacher of the Hanbali school of law. Likewise, the scholarly achievements of ibn Taymiyyahʾs father, Shihab al-deen ʾAbd al-Haleem ibn Taymiyyah (d. 1284) were well known. Because of the Mongol invasion, ibn Taymiyyahʾs family moved to Damascus in 1268 , which was then ruled by the Mamluks of Egypt. It was here that his father delivered sermons from the pulpit of the Umayyad Mosque, and ibn Taymiyyah followed in his footsteps by studying with the great scholars of his time, among them a woman scholar by the name Zaynab bint Makki from whom he learned Hadith.

Ibn Taymiyyah was an industrious student and acquainted himself with the secular and religious sciences of his time. He devoted special attention to Arabic literature and gained mastery over grammar and lexicography as well as studying mathematics and calligraphy. His scholarly zeal combined with his intense partisanship and hypergraphia led many contemporaries and later observers, most notably Ibn Battuta to consider him mentally unbalanced.

As for the religious sciences, he studied jurisprudence from his father and became a representative of the Hanbali school of thought. Though he remained faithful throughout his life to that school, whose doctrines he had decisively mastered, he also acquired an extensive knowledge of the Islamic disciplines of the Qurʾan and the Hadith. He also studied theology (kalam), philosophy, and Sufism. He also refuted the Shia as well as the Christians. His student Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya authored the famous poem ʾʾO Christ-Worshipperʾʾ which unapologetically examined the dogma of the Trinity propounded by many Christian sects.

His troubles with government began when he went with a delegation of ulama to talk to Ghazan Khan, the Khan of the Mongol Ilkhans in Iran, to stop his attack on the Muslims. It is reported that not one of the ulama dared to say anything to the Khan except Ibn Taymiyyah who said:

ʾʾYou claim that you are Muslim and you have with you Muʾadhdhins, Muftis, Imams and Shaykhs but you invaded us and reached our country for what? While your father and your grandfather, Hulagu were non-believers, they did not attack and they kept their promise. But you promised and broke your promise.ʾʾ
Ibn Taymiyyah is known for his devotion to jihad
...the best of the forms of voluntary service man can devote to God. The ulema agree in proclaiming it superior to pilgrimage, for men, and to the `umra, as well as to prayer and supererogatory fasts, as is shown in the Book and in the Prophetic Sunnah.

He (Ibn Taymiyyah) was knowledgeable in fiqh. And it was said that he was more knowledgeable of fiqh of the madhʾhabs than the followers of those very same madhʾhabs, (both) in his time and other than his time. He was a scholar of the fundamental issues, the subsidiary issues, of grammar, language, and other textual and intellectual sciences. And no scholar of a science would speak to him except that he thought the science was of speciality of Ibn Taymiyyah. As for Hadith, then he was the carrier of its flag, a Hafidh, able to distinguish the weak from the strong and fully acquainted with the narrators.

Wikileaks has obtained and decrypted this previously unreleased video footage from a US Apache helicopter in 2007. It shows Reuters journalist Namir Noor-Eldeen, driver Saeed Chmagh, and several others as the Apache shoots and kills them in a public square in Eastern Baghdad. They are apparently assumed to be insurgents. After the initial shooting, an unarmed group of adults and children in a minivan arrives on the scene and attempts to transport the wounded. They are fired upon as well. The official statement on this incident initially listed all adults as insurgents and claimed the US military did not know how the deaths ocurred.
